My progress report in case you're curious about my crazy antics. It was really hard to do though, since I had gotten even more sick on Saturday and Sunday x_x I just had to pull through though, otherwise it will be hard for the upcoming week. Oh my dad had gotten ill too, on his birthday of all things >_>; I suddenly felt responsible for this.

I'm a bit in trouble now, considering I'm nearly over the outlines. So far I've had about 3 chapters, but the next one will be the last with contents I've consciously thought about... and there isn't anything tangible beyond that.

Anyway I think I'll do that meme with the age/name/parents/sib/etc clarifying thing once I'm done.

I hope I feel better tomorrow, 'cause writing with a cold isn't exactly ideal.

On a better note, I am finally done with the traumatic backstory of nearly all characters and it can only get more brighter and confusing.

I hadn't written anything for like twelve days so I'm a bit behind lol. I should have been at 60% or something.

The story feels like its progressing slowly due to all the background stories for the side characters, but... two of the main characters are on the way to becoming BFF and the girl from here is finally making an appearance. Another guy character is introduced with her, but I still have no clue on his personality or his looks \-0_o-/ Guess I'll just go with the flow~

Just checked out the new UDDUP raw... another crossover character! Once again DOUBLE-S owns the original mangaka art-wise by turning it into a drool-worthy and hot character. Oh yeah, Igawa is baaack. :D Man I missed the guy.

Sooo in one hour Nanowrimo starts and since this is the first time I'm participating, I don't have any writing buddies. Add me? I also created a twitter account for this month of insanity.

The title will be "The Moon and the Magnet" from the as of now non-existant "Sunken Glory" franchise; I'll make it one, hur hur.

Provided that I might not have much to do in the upcoming months... >_> and after finishing the mysterious background story, I may do a oneshot comic about a 12/13 year old kid living on the moon as well. I gave him a temporary name, Wayde, until I can find something better. It will be my second try at a comic... I barely remember the first one, but it failed and it didn't have a solid story.

Today I forced myself to look at some old designs that make me cringe endlessly. [tehorror]The hair!! D: Wayde's like omg ewwwwwwwww the worst. What's up with the colors man! This was done 5 years ago and ever since I hadn't bothered with his character design. The green eyes will stay, but otherwise it's scrapped.[/tehorror] Of course, he'll be de-aged as well.
The only character I've been consistent on art-wise, is the main character for the background stories. This is a serious ":-|" lady in late twenties with a crazy "I'm in the resistance!!1" father and a somewhat helpless ~~little brother~~ jerk who hates on her ~~two~~ three male ~~underlings~~ subordinates.

Did this sketch yesterday. Not bad if I say so myself. Drawing eyes and decent heads is a piece of cake, but now I just need to work on drawing bodies and uh, noses.

Paint Tool Sai is fantastic (Vector line art layers own!) by the way. It's the same tool I used to create a fanart of Jack from Pandora Hearts. Heavily experimented using patterns and filters. I'm so proud of the braid and just hair that blows in the wind and unties for no particular reason.

Sort of interested in going to the HAFF, an animation festival in Utrecht next week. They're showing tons of anime, but either I can't go or am not interested or seen it already. Friday seems the most interesting day with:

Probably won't make it to the first one, because of presentations the entire morning... >_> *sigh*

Erk, I'll do that post after holidays are over. It's nothing terrible though. Don't worry.

Anyway this is a generic anime/manga catch up post.

Anime
Aoi Bungaku 1 - Interesting and the style smells like MnY, except grittier and less shiny.
Kuchu Buranko 2 - I could probably list a dozen of differences, but this ending was so much more heart-warming than in the book. I like the fact that they slipped in a Kayo for Tetsuya.
Tegami Bachi 3 - so far so good. I'm still addicted to the ED song.
Seiken no Blacksmith 2 - Looks like I'll keep up with this one after all.
Tatakau Shisho - The Book of Bantorra 4 - Awesome fighting in this episode!! The story is interesting and mysterious~ I still can't get over the silly names though.

Manga
Sugiru Juushichi no Haru - Hey Fuyumi Ono fans out there, especially the Ghost Hunt and other mystery/horror fans - check this manga out! You'll like it!

Before I'm going to explain what the heck is up with the so-called private emo entry I mentioned, I'll just say that I'm very close to surprising a lot of people.

Having said that, I don't regret my previous choice and it cleared up exactly what I did or didn't want to do.

Perhaps later this day I will elaborate.

- OP: A pool NOOO!! D: * "In the pool" and "Trade show model" were two of the stories I hoped that wouldn't get animated.

- first guy is an insomniac acrobat, who had a long injection scene. Longer than a minute XD I had to laugh so hard. I liked the atmosphere afterwards.

- LOL ...I have no idea why it was 27 degrees in that room. Oh, Tetsuya, that poor and tortured character. I can't wait for the next episode! Some other characters appeared as well. Also, the show takes place between the 17th and 24th December, which means we should be seeing more cameo's from other leads and side characters.

The new raw for UDDUP is out! About time!

I've only got two new anime to watch this fall. Or three, if Letter Bee turns out to be my kind of deal.

Fall anime
Kuchu Buranko - Yeah, you knew, but this was something I never expected... PAKU ROMI as the doctor!!! Also, I really want to hear Sakurai in that role. He's playing a certain poor character from the first novel and I was like.... whut. XD
The Sacred Blacksmith - For the character designs (ahem Tokyo Majin) and the trailer looks great. I want Cecily's boots and Patty looks so cute. Oh yeah, Luke, and Siegfried even more so = fangirl bait!! FANGIRL BAIT I TELL YOU!!

Manga recs
Shiki - it's getting really good! We're starting to get to know the people other than the Sotoba locals. Read up to vol 5 chapter 14 and ahhhh Tohru!! D: Natsuno's really something too.
Akagami Shirayuki Hime - Been keeping up with this and it hasn't let me down. It's a fantasy and slice of life shoujo manga, but it's good stuff! Both female and male protagonists are interesting and completely adorable. Shirayuki somehow managed up my list of favorite female characters.

Now for something entirely else...
I may participate in nano this year. Anybody else doing it? I've got an idea and figuring it out atm, but it's probably not enough to pass the 50,000 limit, unless I veer off the plot based road. Though I did decide on doing it in Dutch so I can be more ~elaborate~ and sound pretentiously smart for once (to be perfectly honest, I miss doing such a thing). I absolutely need this story typed out and not to have it stuck in my head any longer, because I want to spend it on the SG story instead.

Summer of Ubume

Japanese detective novel entry ahoy. This time it's the first novel in the Kyougokudo series, Summer of Ubume (Natsu no Ubume). The second novel Mouryou no Hako had been adapted into an anime series, which was just excellent. As I knew what I more or less could expect after seeing the MnY anime, I can say that it's even more amazing. The novel was even more enjoyable, because I knew the key characters... and they were now even properly introduced. Eno-san's antics was just completely hilarious. I laughed trying to imagine those scenes animated. There's also much more of Atsuko too than in the anime. She's an awesome and competent journalist.

I read and I was like... literally read from 7 until 4 in the morning. Probably would have taken longer if I didn't skim some parts, because some of the mythology/psychology babbling between Sekiguchi and Kyougokudo had my head spinning. Be glad it's as concise as a mere two episodes in the MnY anime! Also props to the translators for just doing their thing, because man... I can't imagine how much research this novel required.

The story is like a puzzle... puzzling, but it fit down to the very end. So cleverly made, and yet so dramatic... MnY made me feel so sorry for Kibashu, but in Ubume.... Seki-kun! Seki-kun!! D: *sheds a tear*

The UDDUP speculation post

I realize I haven't posted since... weeks. Well, I don't have that much to tell on what happened (nothing).

Gonna do some more speculating...

So~ crossover characters! We have two. Apparently there is this group of authors who likes to crossover their works. It's like TRC, but more sane, probably. Unfortunately, most of these works are like practically unknown to the English manga world.

Ana Riddle from Yami no Aegis/Aegis in the Dark (wiki'd)
A girl doing her business in Tea Room Siren. Ana is the daughter of Amelia (child of a Sicilian mafia executive and Michelle Madonia) and a Japanese doctor Kitagami. Still goes to junior high? What else is decribed about her is probably a spoiler to her background, but I do want to say; No, she's not a pre/postcog!

Now, I'm not certain about about the timeline it takes place it. It could be a parallel world. It's not from Hiroshi Takashige, so it is debatable until there's more information out. Most probably a cameo?

Tatsumi Daiba from ALCBANE
A young pretty genius at 18 in '98/'99. More here. If UDDUP starts to take place in 2005, then he'd be like... 25?

Sparky and Mentor do exist and apparently so it wouldn't be much of a stretch if Alcbane is or has been around. Plus this is by Takashige himself, and it would explain the following things!

The leg and the giant empty room: There's no reason why he wouldn't be fighting on the frontlines with Alcbane. At one point it leaves Tatsumi with an injury and barely able to walk. The room was probably used for equipment.

Long lost brother theory could probably be ruled out since we know about his childhood, but but but it's too hilarious and coincidental how Mamoru and Tatsumi are each other's copy cats (eerily similar looking handsome and disabled prodigies who make use of some badass technology with a walking stick and glasses). Ah well, you'll never know. Especially since Mamoru is still one giant mystery when it comes to anything but kenjutsu.

Timeline
- Mamoru is at Inaba's school
- Mamoru is at Makabe's school
- He meets Genda and spars with him. M seemed to be around 20 years old according to Genda.
- Mamoru kills master, is arrested and then eventually released.

- 3 years ago: the brawl in business district. M with bokutou. Senji meets him for the first time.

(- The above leads to M getting recruited by the Network/Tatsumi and is provided with a katana.)
- M is sent off to Chechnya (T arranges transport) and takes out plunderers.

- Somewhere down the road M becomes blind and T's leg gets injured.

- Igawa gets recruited into the network and develops new sight for M. The only info Igawa gets about M is that 'he took down 10 guys and killed 1 person' (mentioned in vol 1).
- M is approached by T to work for him again (see chap 77).
- M and Igawa are placed in the team Blade.
- A week later Haruka appears and the rest is history.

In the pool

Kuchu Buranko is a new anime by the Mononoke staff. It's going to air sometime in October and I really can't wait for it. KB is the second book in the Ichiro Irabu series; the first book "In the pool" has been translated into English and my curiosity made me read it.

With five short stories they could structure the anime series like this: 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 3 = 11 episodes.

All of the characters are very much exaggerated and so are Irabu and nurse Mayumi. Almost as if they were caricatures. According to the author bio anime/manga is his main inspiration.
Also, Irabu really is a pale, fat and middle-aged man and it confused me at first because of the anime promo image (see icon)... after reading the book, I have a bit more understanding on this portrayal... Irabu is a real kid underneath the fat and unattractive image. Oh yeah, Mayumi the sexy nurse is pretty cool even though she doesn't do that much beside injecting 'stuff' and flipping through magazines. There will be a lot of injections. I warn ye all.

My conclusions? It's not something I usually read (detective novels lolz), but it was definitely worth the time and gave me a good laugh. I'm really excited about how it will be handled in the anime, there is a subtle deep message and much potential weirness to go all out with.

ps. kuchu_buranko exists. May be posting a few excerpts there. Yes there will be episode uploading. That awesome internet connection can't go to waste, eh? Won't be on my own server though.

How He Loves....

Last week I went to this youth camp organized by one of the bigger churches in the west of the country. It was pretty amazing in a whole. Even though I didn't know any of the people and I put social interaction a bit on a back burner as usual, I felt very much welcomed. Surprisingly there weren't any cliques and everybody got along with everybody. Everyone was cool, honest and open. I think I gained a good share of friends.

This year took place pretty close by, somewhere near the highest point of the Netherlands; the town of Vijlen, which is 200 meters above the sea level. The other people who came from the lower/flat parts of the country just weren't used to it and they were like 'omg this place looks so beautiful!!! So many hills!!'.

My room had about 13 girls and it was incredibly... messy like you wouldn't want to know. Probably the messiest room of all people. There were only a few people keeping their stuff neat (incl. me) and not all over the floor. It would probably have been better if there was more storage place.

All days had their share of services and of course the fun stuff as well. Unfortunately I barely made any pictures of the any of the events.

Tuesday:
We went canoeing on the Meuse River. I never did this before and it was like... really hard. My brother, another girl and me went in one canoe and peddled about 10 km within an hour or so. We were right on the border between the Belgium and the Netherlands (click for map - border, not the blue line). Our canoe was the second fastest of the ten - we got caught up by three other people who all had some experience with martial arts lol. Considering our group didn't have that much arm strength, we considered our result to be good.
Eventually I ended up with muscle pain in my lower part of my right arm.

Wednesday:
Next activity took place in Valkenburg. Me and my bro have been in that town many times as a child... this time we visited a small family park with some indoor and outdoor activities.

Laser tag: This was my favorite activity! Most of all it's unique because it took place in a cave and that made the experience all the better. Our team (red) ended beating the green team. My score was pretty good... seventh out of twenty people. Sad to say my brother, a greenie, was placed at #6. *shakes virtual fist*
Chairlift: Have nothing to say about this, the view is nothing new to me.
Toboggan: Sliding down a hill on a metal slide. Did it two times. Fun but gets pretty boring fast.

I've walked (and even slept) in plenty of caves, but apparently it's possible to do cave biking in the area. This really seems like a very unique experience and I am putting this on my to-do list. Unfortunately there wasn't much time left on Friday.

Thursday:
Swimming in a tropical swimming pool! Not much to tell here.

As for faith-related things, not much new. It was very practical and not so much on the theoretical side. All in all, experience is better than having knowledge. I think I started to gain more appreciation and acceptation for people in general, and not reject them from first hand (as I tend to do)... because I fear their unpredictability.

This camp felt short, but at the same time short seems better no?

Summer season anime... Any recommendations for me?

Shortly before camp I got "In The Pool" by Hideo Okuda in the mail... yes, from the Kuuchuu Buranko (Flying Trapeze) anime by the Mononoke team in Fall. I'm just very curious about it.

The first two stories were pretty amusing... according to the novel's cover insert the stories are anime/manga inspired. So as you should expect it's not completely realistic... or better said: the characters are exaggerated. But it's pure lol, seriously. There are three more stories to read, I'll probably resume tomorrow or on Monday.

OH YEAH, I'M midnightreverie HOGGING YOUR COMMUNITIES IN 2007-2009. Yes, this is a giant hint in regards to a certain lj comm's existence. Find and the first gets the cookies.

Speaking of exaggeration, I wrote a rather lengthy and cracky Pandora Hearts one shot (found here).

Away for a couple of days

Been settling into lurker modus for quite a while. D-don't expect much from me this month. I haven't done a thing about a certain fic. ~~Forgive me plz.~~

I may or may not have acquired an obsession with Pandora Hearts. It shall be confirmed within a month or two. I do have a plotbunny in my head, it's an emo gag one-shot. Inquire within for more information.

Did a Ghost Hunt fst/fanmix/whatever they call it these days... Phenomenon. it's more of a musical than lyrical fst than what is usually done. The instrumental track "........." is BADASS.

In other news...
Starting from Monday I'll be on summer camp for about 5 days. To make things worse, I don't know anyone yet except for ~~the little prick who dragged me into this~~ my brother, but I heard that they're all are nice. I'll try to make the best of this, since I agreed to it. Take photographs of the nature and hills, running in the forest and set things on fire~ It should be a nice couple of days away from this room, my laptop and my obsessions (I do honestly need a break). Depending on whether I'll have an internet connection on my mobile, I will be able to check my mail. I'll be tweeting too.

This sounds so epic.

Holidays! Two whole months!!! Not officially, it's supposed to start in two weeks... still yay!!

More importantly, I have my propedeuse diploma... it's the thing I absolutely need to potentially get into other colleges/universities in the first place, especially since I never graduated from HS. I'm glad I don't have to worry about that anymore. Hah, not bad at all for someone who screwed up four years of HS :> My weak points showed up a lot, but I pulled through in the end.

I'll be doing some work on relatively slow pace during the holidays... read books, write stories, make websites and more websites... Practice is good.

I realize I haven't talked about anime much recently... well, I am currently following Hetalia and Pandora Hearts. Also started on Haruhi 2, but I felt entirely unmotivated after the second episode. Perhaps later. Completed East of Eden, but it didn't do that much for me.

UDDUP is still awesome... although I don't read much manga, it's just perfectly balanced, which is so rare. Hmm, scanlations are up to 69, and it's quickly going up to 82. I like that.

Switchfoot & Jon Foreman discography

I promised to do this, like... ages ago, but it never happened until now. It helps that this band is going to release 4 studio albums within a time period of one or two years. I have to get these out now, otherwise it will be too much to take in! :D New connection over fiberglass was installed recently and it's blingingly fast! I uploaded all of this within less than a half hour!

Okay the music is horrendously catchy and obviously part of why I love this band. I also not so secretly love Foreman's beautiful voice and his amazing lyrics.
