I promised to do this, like... ages ago, but it never happened until now. It helps that this band is going to release 4 studio albums within a time period of one or two years. I have to get these out now, otherwise it will be too much to take in! :D New connection over fiberglass was installed recently and it's blingingly fast! I uploaded all of this within less than a half hour!

Okay the music is horrendously catchy and obviously part of why I love this band. I also not so secretly love Foreman's beautiful voice and his amazing lyrics.

Switchfoot
Known for their energetic live shows, the three guitarists in the line-up often operate simultaneously, building on the pop sensibilities of Foreman's songwriting, and, rounded out by Fontamillas's work on the synthesizer, bringing his industrial roots to the sound, the band works up "the Switchfoot sound" – a melodic crunch of densely layered sound featuring some electronic experimentation, and often driven by hard-charging guitar riffs, while throwing in a few softer, spacey ballads as well.

[the post contains several non-spoilery manga pages and some illustrations :o I tried hard not to sound fangirly aga;faf]

The manga which is commonly mistaken for a shoujo manga due to its title, basically contains most of my guilty pleasures including swordsmen, detectives, tech stuff, geeks, kickass (motherly) ladies, impending war, great art, etc. I like it a lot.

She dragged the blind guy into an alleyway and said... )

In short: This is a manga well worth looking into, the concept of a blind swordsman isn't exactly the most original thing ever (Zatoichi, ahem), but the story was well enough to try following it raw. The art is great and very detailed. In other words it's begging for an anime adaption, although I think it's a little early for one...

I mentioned this band several entries ago. Pistol Valve is an all female band doing a fusion of j-pop/jazz/rock/hiphop/etc. Good stuff. Click the links and preview and/or download the songs!
